Job Description: Accountant
Location: Patina Resorts, Maldives
Job Type: Full-Time

Responsibilities:
- Financial Management:
- Maintain accurate financial records and prepare financial statements.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable.
- Monitor cash flow and ensure the timely reconciliation of bank accounts.
- Budgeting and Reporting:
- Prepare budgets and forecasts in collaboration with management.
- Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Analyze financial performance and provide insights to improve profitability.
- Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with Maldivian financial regulations and tax laws.
- Prepare and submit tax filings, including VAT and other statutory returns.
- Liaise with auditors and external stakeholders as required.
- Operational Support:
- Monitor inventory and manage cost controls.
- Assist in payroll preparation and employee benefits administration.
- Provide financial guidance to other departments as necessary.
- System and Process Improvement:
- Maintain and enhance financial systems and processes.
- Ensure the security and confidentiality of financial data.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in the hospitality industry.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office (especially Excel).
- Strong understanding of financial regulations and accounting principles.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills in English (both verbal and written).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with hospitality accounting systems.
- Knowledge of Maldivian tax laws and financial compliance.
- CPA or equivalent certification is an added advantage.
