As a Commis I, you will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting high-quality dishes within your assigned section. Working under the guidance of the Chef de Partie and Sous Chef, you will help ensure smooth kitchen operations, maintain hygiene standards, and deliver exceptional culinary experiences for our guests.
📌 Key Duties & Responsibilities

Prepare, cook, and present menu items in line with kitchen and restaurant standards.

Assist senior chefs in developing and improving recipes to maintain culinary excellence.

Ensure accurate portion control and attractive food presentation.

Monitor food quality, freshness, and stock levels within your section.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of your workstation and kitchen equipment.

Follow all food safety, hygiene, and health regulations strictly.

Provide support and guidance to junior kitchen staff (Commis II, Commis III).

Work closely with the team to ensure smooth and efficient service.

Participate in stock rotation, inventory management, and reduce food wastage.

Report any issues with equipment to the Chef de Partie or Sous Chef promptly.
✅ Candidate Requirements

Previous experience as Commis I or in a similar role in a professional kitchen.

Strong understanding of cooking techniques, food preparation, and kitchen operations.

Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen.

Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

High standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and grooming.

Culinary diploma or professional training (preferred but not mandatory).

💰 Salary & Benefits

Basic Salary: MVR 5,397
-
Service Charge: MVR 2,000 – 3,000 (approx.)
