Director of Human Resources – Amilla Maldives

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Director of Human Resources to join our leadership team. This role is ideal for professionals who thrive in luxury hospitality environments and are eager to contribute to a culture of fairness, growth, and innovation.
Key Responsibilities

Lead all HR functions including recruitment, training, employee relations, compensation, and benefits.

Partner with management to align HR strategy with resort culture and operational goals.

Drive succession planning, talent development, and employee engagement initiatives.

Ensure full compliance with the Maldivian Employment Act, expatriate quotas, work permits, and visa requirements.

Oversee payroll, leave management, and legal reporting in accordance with Maldives law.

Develop and implement HR policies, wellbeing programs, and disciplinary procedures.

Represent the resort in government relations and labour authority matters.

Provide HR leadership during pre-opening, rebranding, and transition phases.

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Business (Master’s preferred).

Minimum 5 years of progressive HR leadership experience, ideally within luxury hospitality.

Solid knowledge of Maldivian labour laws and HR compliance.

Previous experience in resort/island operations highly valued.

Background in pre-opening, rebranding, or organizational transition preferred.

HR certifications (SHRM, CIPD, HRCI) are an advantage.
