Job Summary:
We are seeking a versatile and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Barista cum Waiter. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality coffee and beverages while also providing exceptional service to our guests as a waiter. The ideal candidate will have a passion for coffee, excellent communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Barista Duties:
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, teas, and other beverages according to established recipes and standards.
- Operate espresso machines, grinders, and other equipment with precision to ensure consistent quality.
- Maintain a clean and organized coffee bar, including brewing equipment, utensils, and workstations.
- Stock and replenish coffee beans, syrups, milk, and other supplies as needed.
- Take customer orders for beverages, including special requests or modifications.
- Provide recommendations to customers based on their preferences and menu offerings.
- Ensure all beverages are prepared and served in a timely manner, maintaining high standards of presentation.
- Handle cash transactions and operate the cash register as needed.
- Uphold food safety and hygiene standards, including proper storage of perishable items and adherence to health codes.
Waiter Duties:
- Greet guests as they arrive, escort them to tables, and present menus.
- Take food and beverage orders from guests, ensuring accuracy and attention to special requests.
- Serve food and drinks to guests, providing exceptional customer service throughout their dining experience.
- Monitor guest needs and promptly address any requests or concerns.
- Check on tables regularly to ensure guest satisfaction and refill beverages as needed.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure accurate and timely delivery of orders.
- Process guest payments accurately, including handling cash and credit card transactions.
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization of dining areas, including clearing tables and resetting for the next guests.
- Provide information about menu items, specials, and promotions to guests.
- Uphold a professional appearance and demeanor at all times, representing the restaurant in a positive manner.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a barista or waiter/waitress preferred but not required. Training will be provided.
- Knowledge of coffee preparation techniques and espresso equipment is a plus.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and cleanliness.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and procedures.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods and move around the coffee bar and dining areas.
- Lift and carry trays of food and beverages weighing up to 20 pounds.
- Work in a noisy environment with potential exposure to hot surfaces and steam.
