Job Overview
Cabin crew, also known as flight attendants, are responsible for ensuring the safety, security, and comfort of passengers during flights. They represent the airline and are trained to handle both routine and emergency situations on board.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. Safety and Security
- Conduct pre-flight safety checks of the cabin and equipment.
- Ensure passengers follow safety regulations (seat belts, luggage storage, electronic devices).
- Deliver safety demonstrations or monitor video safety briefings.
- Respond to in-flight emergencies such as medical issues, turbulence, or evacuations.
- Handle security threats calmly and professionally.
2. Passenger Service
- Greet passengers, verify boarding passes, and assist with seating.
- Provide assistance to elderly passengers, children, and those with disabilities.
- Serve meals, snacks, and beverages.
- Respond to passenger inquiries and requests promptly and politely.
- Manage conflicts and ensure a pleasant atmosphere on board.
3. Communication
- Act as a link between passengers and the flight deck crew.
- Provide updates on flight progress, delays, or other announcements.
- Report incidents, irregularities, or passenger issues to the captain and ground staff.
4. First Aid and Emergency Handling
- Administer first aid when necessary.
- Operate safety equipment like fire extinguishers, oxygen masks, or life jackets.
- Assist in evacuating passengers safely during emergencies.
- Stay trained and updated on medical and safety protocols.
5. Pre- and Post-Flight Duties
- Attend pre-flight briefings with the captain and crew to discuss flight details.
- Check emergency equipment, supplies, and cleanliness of the aircraft.
- Complete paperwork and reports after each flight (incidents, passenger counts, inventory).
