Job Duties and Responsibilities:

As a Female Cashier at the Grocery Mart, you will be responsible for managing transactions with customers and ensuring a smooth checkout process. Your primary duties will include, but are not limited to:

1. Customer Service:
   • Greet customers with a friendly and welcoming demeanor.
   • Assist customers with inquiries, product location, and pricing information.
   • Provide excellent customer service to enhance the shopping experience.
2. Cash Handling:
   • Operate cash registers and handle cash transactions accurately.
   • Process payments using cash, credit cards, and mobile payment apps.
   • Calculate and return change to customers.
3. Product Scanning:

   • Verify prices and ensure accurate pricing of products.
4. Bagging and Packaging:

5. Inventory Management:
   • Monitor inventory levels of cash registers and request replenishment as needed.
   • Assist in stocktaking and inventory counts when required.
6. Returns and Exchanges:
   • Process returns and exchanges in accordance with store policies.
   • Handle refunds or store credits professionally and efficiently.
7. Maintaining Cleanliness:
   • Keep the cashier area clean, organized, and free of clutter.
   • Ensure the checkout counter is well-stocked with bags, receipts, and other supplies.
8. Adherence to Policies:
   • Follow store policies and procedures regarding cash handling, refunds, and customer interactions.
   • Adhere to security measures to prevent theft and unauthorized transactions.
9. Assist Other Departments:
   • Collaborate with other store departments, such as the sales floor or stockroom, as needed.
   • Support colleagues during busy periods or special promotions.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Prior experience as a cashier or in retail customer service is preferred but not required.
• Strong numerical skills and ability to handle cash transactions accurately.
• Excellent communication skills and a friendly, customer-focused attitude.
• Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic computer skills for operating cash registers and processing transactions.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team and interact with customers professionally.

Working Hours:

• Typically 8-hour shifts per day, as per the store’s operational hours.
• Days off and schedule will be provided by the employer.
