Job Duties and Responsibilities of a Painter:
As a Painter at Sun Siyam Olhuveli Maldives, you will play a vital role in maintaining the aesthetic appeal and structural integrity of our resort facilities. Your primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Surface Preparation:
- Prepare various surfaces, including walls, ceilings, and structures, for painting by cleaning, sanding, and priming.
- Ensure surfaces are smooth, free of dirt, and in suitable condition for painting.
- Paint Application:
- Apply paint, varnish, and other finishes to surfaces using brushes, rollers, or spray guns.
- Ensure even application and smooth finish while adhering to quality standards.
- Color Mixing and Matching:
- Mix paint colors to achieve desired shades and hues.
- Match paint colors to existing surfaces or specified color schemes.
- Repair and Maintenance:
- Perform minor repairs on surfaces, including filling holes and cracks, before painting.
- Inspect surfaces for damages and recommend necessary repairs.
- Equipment Maintenance:
- Maintain and clean painting equipment, including brushes, rollers, and spray guns, to ensure proper functionality.
- Report any malfunctioning equipment to the maintenance department.
- Safety Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while working with paints, chemicals, and equipment.
- Ensure proper ventilation in work areas and use protective gear as required.
- Team Collaboration:
- Coordinate with other departments, such as Maintenance and Housekeeping, to schedule painting tasks efficiently.
- Collaborate with interior designers or decorators to achieve desired aesthetics.
- Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of paint colors used, quantities, and areas painted.
- Report completed tasks and work progress to supervisors or managers.
- Quality Assurance:
- Ensure high-quality workmanship and attention to detail in all painting tasks.
- Conduct inspections of finished surfaces to ensure they meet established standards.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience as a Painter, preferably in a hospitality or resort setting.
- Knowledge of various painting techniques, tools, and materials.
- Ability to mix and match paint colors to achieve desired results.
- Understanding of safety protocols and guidelines related to painting.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Good communication skills to collaborate with other departments and follow instructions.
- Physical stamina and dexterity to perform tasks such as climbing ladders, bending, and lifting.
- Certification or training in painting and decorating is a plus.
