Position: Security Guard

Location: Maldives Resort

Reports to: Security Supervisor or Security Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a vigilant and experienced Security Guard to join our team at a prestigious Maldives Resort. The Security Guard will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for guests, staff, and property. The ideal candidate will have a background in security operations, excellent observational skills, and a proactive approach to ensuring the safety and security of all individuals within the resort premises.

Responsibilities:

Security Operations:

• Patrol resort premises regularly to prevent and detect signs of intrusion, trespassing, vandalism, or other security threats.
• Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems to identify and respond to suspicious activities.
• Conduct thorough checks of guests, staff, and visitors entering and exiting the resort.
• Control access points, ensuring only authorized individuals are allowed entry.
• Respond promptly to alarms, disturbances, or emergency situations.
• Investigate incidents and prepare detailed reports for management review.
• Coordinate with local law enforcement agencies when necessary.

Guest and Staff Safety:

• Provide a visible and reassuring presence to guests and staff.
• Escort guests and staff to their accommodations or vehicles upon request, especially during late hours.
• Assist in emergency evacuations and procedures.
• Maintain a log of all security-related incidents and activities.

Property Protection:

• Monitor and report any suspicious or unauthorized activities around resort facilities, including beaches, restaurants, and recreational areas.
• Ensure the security of valuable equipment, assets, and facilities.
• Perform regular checks of doors, windows, and locks to ensure they are properly secured.
• Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate department.

Crowd Control and Event Security:

• Assist in controlling crowds during events, concerts, or gatherings.
• Maintain order and ensure compliance with resort policies and regulations.
• Provide support to event organizers and staff to ensure a safe and successful event.

Emergency Response:

• Be prepared to respond to medical emergencies, fires, or other crises.
• Administer basic first aid and CPR if required.
• Assist in coordinating emergency response efforts with other staff members.

Customer Service:

• Provide friendly and professional customer service to guests, addressing inquiries and concerns in a timely and courteous manner.
• Offer assistance and information to guests, such as directions or recommendations.

Training and Compliance:

• Attend training sessions on security protocols, emergency procedures, and guest service.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of resort policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with all safety and security regulations.

Qualifications:

Education and Training:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of security training or certification preferred.
• First Aid and CPR certification is a plus.

Experience:

• Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or military preferred.
• Experience in a resort or hospitality setting is beneficial.

Skills and Abilities:

• Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.
• Physical fitness and ability to stand or walk for extended periods.
• Proficiency in using security equipment such as radios, CCTV systems, and metal detectors.

Language:

• Proficiency in English is required. Knowledge of additional languages is an asset due to the international clientele.
